Forgiveness is a Spiritual Practice

Camilia

Like yoga or meditation, forgiveness is an ongoing, daily, letting go of emotional baggage.

As Clarissa Pinkola Estés says, “Many people have trouble with forgiveness because they have been taught that it is a singular act to be completed in one sitting.

That is not so.
Forgiveness has many layers.
In our culture there is a notion that forgiveness is 100% proposition. All or nothing.
It is also taught that forgiveness means to overlook, to act as though a thing has not occurred. This is not true either.
The important part the forgiveness is to begin and to continue. The finishing of it is a life work.”

Begin today. Make forgiveness a part of your daily Soul Flow. Like any spiritual practice, it will be challenging, but the rewards are life changing.
Heart of sand
“That we insist on keeping old wounds alive is our curse. I am learning, when I focus on the fingers that dug into me and the many feet they have walked over me, there is no end to the life of my pain. Tragedy stays alive by feeling what’s been done to us. Peace comes alive by living with the result.”
